With the Axion crampons, you can forget about the hassle of mounting them on risky slopes and in rough conditions. You can indeed mount them from the start of your tour, and use them whenever you want. On hard snow, just before a steep ascent or a risky approach, you can easily “switch them on” with your pole and get the grip you need. As soon as you don’t need them anymore, just switch them off as easily.
